Beeley Moor is the poor neighbour to Chatsworth Park. There is a rough track leading across Harewood Moor to Beeley Moor which once had 14 diamond shaped ‘landscape’ plantations, formed for the Duke of Devonshire as an approach to the Chatsworth Estate
from Chesterfield. Joseph Paxton was Head Gardener at Chatsworth from 1826 and masterminded an extensive redesign. These are part of one of his scenic drives.
A number of ancient tracks come together to form The Beeley Triangle. This moor has many guidestones and was an important crossing for vital coal supplies to Chatsworth House.
